Alaska didn’t start death records until 1913. Before this 1913, you must search substitute records to locate your ancestor’s death date and place.These are Alternative record collections that you can explore if a birth record doesn’t exist prior to 1913.
PART A: If you know the date of death
With a date (from your records), you can order a copy of the death record for a fee from the following:1913–Present – Alaska Division of Public Health. $; Order death certificates through the department of health. They are restricted to immediate family members.[1]
